Setting your hair on big rollers will help tremendously. Your hair will dry with lots of volume, but not extremely curly. Here's a trick. Put the rollers in the crown of your hair before you get into the shower. The steam will help to set the curl. Wait about 10-15 mins before taking the rollers out and you will have more volume.

Brush up your hair while wet where you want the volume and spray some hair-spray then blow dry at the base of the hair this will help with volume.

Go somewhere like Ulta or some other place that carries a lot of hair styling supplies - and find a good root lifter. Ulta is good because they have hair stylists there who are familiar with products and can make suggestions. I like one by a brand named 'Kenra'. It's in a grey can. You lift your hair with your fingers and spray it directly at the roots while your hair is wet. Then hang your head upside down and blow dry your hair, directing the air from the dryer at the roots first. After that, use a big fat round brush to get some lift. Hope that helps! I have very flat hair too, but I HATE using hairspray. I'd rather have soft flat hair than poofy sticky or stiff hair.

If you watch the television ads for Garnier Fructose shampoo it says that it has vitamins to fortify hair so that hair becomes 4x stronger/ and or thicker or both.

I have really baby fine hair too. The next time you get your hair styled ask the stylist what produces to use, how to use them and if they could demonstrate them. If you have short hair you could put a product in and them tease it with a comb. Make it a big as you can because later it will go down some.

try, first, using a volumizing mousse(herbal essance) then blow dry your hair upside down. Also, if you wear your hair long it will "pull" it and make it look flatter. try a somewhat shorter cut. that will help give it a bit more bounce.

I have fine flat hair too, so I understand exactly how frustrating it is. The girl who cuts my hair sold me a spray product called 'root lift' made by Pureology that works wonders. It is the only hair product I've ever found that actually makes your hair fuller and thicker. I keep my hair kind of short and flipped out. It's kind of pricey ($20-25 a can) but totally worth it. The stuff is amazing.

Long hair is great. Mine is over 3 feet! :)

You can not wash it for a long time then brush it back for volume on the top of your head, or you could use grease like guys did in the 1950's.

(not washing your hair is a bad idea, it's just a slow way to accumulate grease)
