What's the most efficient hair protectant spray for the cheapest price I can get?

Okay, so I straighten my hair every day for school and the only days I let it sit curly is on the weekends. I have noticed it has gotten noticeably thinner and it seems to be dryer and it's lost its volume pretty much. I mean, it's still curly, but the curls have lost their bounce, their flat-ish. So I guess I need some type of a hair protectant spray. I have a low budget. Like maybe $10 at the most (I know, I'm pathetic.) But anyways, what's the most efficient hair protectant spray I can buy for the cheapest price. In other words, I want something cheap, but not so cheap that it doesn't even work.

How much was the hair protectant spray you use currently, if you use any?

Please answer both questions if you can!

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I'm only going to Wal Mart so nothing fancy please.

I use John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Thermal Protection. It is not the absolute cheapest... but it is the cheapest you should go if you actually want it to work. It defends your hair when heating...but it also isn't too heavy that it weighs it down. I got mine in a set at wal-mart that came with the shampoo and conditioner for 9 dollars. I believe it is about 7 or so at wal-mart when by itself.
