I sew the 1st Hair Spray movie the other with my friends who has cable. it was on Tbs (i think i like pay per view if you have the channel not everyone does). is the new movie hair spary as racist as the 1st one. i want to go see it because whoopi golberg is on the movie and she very very funny

I saw the original for the first time on tbs the other day also. The new one is excellent and yes it does have the same issue because that's basically what the whole movie is about. But Whoopi Golberg is not in it. Now Queen Latifah is--maybe you're getting those two mixed up.

the first movie wasnt racist! what on earth are you talking about?

the first movie was the OPPOSITE. it painted a picture of young teens (without racist beliefs) living in a world where blacks were still looked down upon.

it showed a generation of people trying to fight for equality!

I dont know what state of mind you were in but you totally missed the boat on the moral of the picture!

the second movie is exactly the same only with new costumes, some new songs and new actors in the roles.

hopefully you wont confuse the overall theme again when you see the second one.

queen latifah is in it. have you ever known her to be in openly racist movies unless there was a point to it?
