Hair Gel?, Hair spray?, or BOTH!?

I like the pompadour hairstyle. I create it by putting Gel on the sides and putting hair spray on the top. Should I give it all up and switch to Pomade?

I tried "Royal Crown" Pomade once, and it took 6 washings to get that crap out of my hair. I promised myself to never use that stuff again. Now, I call it "Unroyal Crown".

Is Brylcreem for styling hair? I heard that it was used in the '50s back when Pompadour were popular.

Hair Gels are good as they dissolve with water. So you can get them off when you want them to.
